For
production location sound mixing / recordist services
I bring several sound equipment packages
always with a standard 4 channel eng / efp mixer when
you hire me PSC or Sound Devices. I have
additional digital recorders to take time code and
mix audio in sync for 35mm film or HD production as
well.
My
mixers are:
4 Channel - Sound Devices 442
4
Channel - PSC AlphaMix ( a very quiet
mixer with the best pre amps in class for 4 Channel
mixers = equaling a less noisy recording )
Mixer
Recorders are:
8 Channel - Tascam
HS-P82 - a multi track 8 channel mixer
& recorder with time code in and out + audio out.
The HS-P82 offers better features than other EFP mixers
/ recorder combinations like the Sound Devices 552,
because of sampling recording rates, 8 independant
channels recorded with time code or mix down with
time code recording to 2 channels + 8 separated channels.
The Tascam also has the best sampling rates in quality,
along with the options compared to ENG/EFP mixer recorders
like the Sound Devices 552 and has a better signal
to noise ratio (I paid the additional money for the
better performance). This mixer & recorder also
bests the 552 in low cut capability, mic phase inversion
(for X Y recording), and number of tracks, as well
inputs. * people on camera all with a separate audio
track embedded with timecode? Yup, that's my deal
+ add a stereo mix down as well.
2
Channel - Marantz
PMD 660
I bring the microphones from boom, stick mics,
lavaliers, trams & hard wire mics, boom poles,
zeppelins and other specific audio equipment to
mix & record the best sound for television, corporate,
web new media, digital audio file, ENG or EFP video
production or film production.
Boom
microphones include Sennheiser
& Neumann
for boom operation, or other general uses. Skip
to my shotgun microphone list >>
Lavaliers
include Sennheiser
& Lectrosonics
wireless & TRAM Hard wire lavaliers. Skip
to my lavalier microphone list >>
For
audio tech/location sound I bring Lectrosonics &
Sennheiser lavaliers for talent or can use TRAM for
stationary interviews. For MOS, or specific video,
film television or corporate location sound I use
lavaliers & boom combinations or stick microphones
when appropriate. Audio mixers are always into the
sound recording and the knowledge from minimal location
sound package proficiency, all the way up to a multiple
member sound crew for 35mm, RED or other high end
camera productions.
Gear
for the typical 2 person crew and EFP or ENG or other
specific crew sound support? No problem,
that + all other types of production expertise from
the corporate video to the television spot - I can
scale the right gear to the crews/production's needs.
Mixing live to tuck, to camera, to digital recorder
or other specific production is no pressure and the
levels are always in the green.
Large
Scale feature or television production? Yes
I can bring more sophisticated packages such as multiple
track digital recorders, lavaliers, shotguns, mixers
with graphic equalizers + other tools in the arsenal.
I can also bring additional boom operators, utilities,
refer other crew members and arrange additional camera
equipment too for you.
Stand
ups by television hosts, reporters or others
can be a combination of stick/handheld microphones,
booms, lavaliers and I have done several of these
for live shots or SNG news or news reports/packages
as well.
Other
Gear - Aside from the 'usual production
gear' for corporate video, television advertising/programming,
news & features; I use other sound equipment for
Foley, phone interviews, radio news stories/journalism
or advertising. I also use production sound recording/mixing
equipment for narration or ADR for 35mm film or HD
feature production as well. Use the links to the left
for specific listings to the left.
-
Transcripts - Cassette transcript recorder
& marantz digital audio recorder for transcripts.
I also use a Tascam DR 680 ENG/EFP production 6 track
recorder/mixer for heavy duty ENG, FP, Film or other
multiple requirement production audio needs or interviews.
The Marantz also can be used for digital audio production
for film, HD SLR or cinema sound mixing/recording
or other production or exact location audio needs
including interview transcription
