Who, What, When, Where, Why & How I do sound. Choosing me for production location sound? sound mixing, ENG, EFP, or boom operation? I have mixed and recorded sound for most all types of features with all types of crew personalities in many sound mixing/recording challenges demanding different audio requirements. I know the personality of the film DP and director (the director is typically hollering' at everyone by megaphone * humor *), I know the various types of personalities and roles in production sound for television programming. I have used the best audio gear mixing and sound gadgets and the limitations (and have made the shabby provided gear work too ) for the most experienced film and video production crews. I'm pretty easy going as a sound mixer and try not to grumble too much on a video or film production set.
My experience with national & local news broadcast packages including international news has made me a quick and experienced responder mixing sound, calling IFP, operating booms, monitoring audio from multiple lavaliers, and running comtek & returns. Also my production experience as a audio guy on location sound for documentaries, motion picture films/ads, and HD features has made me ideal for the most unobtrusive sound mixing, microphone placements, and helpful in other production roles (not just a a audio guy or sound guy with a tricked out audio bag). I have also been hired frequently by network news channels for all types of demanding network audio mixing and technician work - a small list includes: car to car audio, run and gun audio, phone recording and ambush audio, hidden audio recording, morning show audio, live shot audio, multiple camera sound mixing, A1 audio, A2 audio among other production network sound mixing.
My location sound mixing in sports & sports broadcast, sound has also helped me do good audio for live shots, and other high pressure broadcast audio situations requiring a flawless sound mix with the cleanest audio. I have also provided audio for live sports telecast, sports player interviews (run and gun audio, interview, and mobile remote sound)
Magazine shows, I have mixed sound for like 60 Minutes, Inside Edition, Current Affair, Dateline, and other journalism broadcasts have helped me run multiple audio sources in interviews from transcript recorders, audio patches, lavaliers, shotgun microphones, EFP audio mixers, and other sound gear simultaneously. Run and gun ambush audio and field audio has made me professional audio tech able to keep up with reporters, producers and the cameraman chasing sound where ever it may be
Television commercials and television features have given me experience as a boom operator, location sound mixer, and production sound mixer originating audio for large & small film or video production crews. With skills past sound guy & recordist I can help with lighting, camera operation (also a DP since 1991), and other production tasks.
My experience as a audio tech for daily news broadcast shows (The Today Show, The Early Show, CNN & various other networks; mixing sound, enabled me to mix sound as a grace-under-pressure running lavaliers, IFP, stick microphones, boom microphones, transcript recorders, mixing boards, and EFP mixers, comtek, digital audio recorders and other audio gear for video broadcast production.
Other audio experience includes location sound for news trucks/sat trucks. reality shows, documentary, syndicated television, government, military, consulting, legal, journalism, studio sound, multi-camera events, and all other major types of productions I have mixed sound for on-location which has made me a highly versatile production sound mixer capable of anticipating audio needs with previous experience and prepared for the specific type of audio tech services. Having worked throughout, Denver, Colorado Springs, Colorado and outside Colorado in several location sound environments I can adapt to where ever I need to mix & record sound and/or work the boom to make your shoot the best film or video production. I have used my audio tech experience to the benefit of many other cameramen, production crews, and film/video producers to help choose the right audio gear for the best sound minimizing audio distractions in the sound recording - as I'm often consulted from other producers, cameramen, or production companies needing sound advice on the best gear as well.
Mixing Sound for Corporate Video Production has enabled me to conquer challenges of air conditioning, ambient office noise, and has helped me diplomatically quiet fraternizers at the water cooler. Aside from corporate video production sound mixing and boom operations I have provided Denver, Colorado Springs, Colorado Wide
Leave the audio tech to me and make your production life easier.
