- I
am a local Colorado freelance professional
production location sound
mixer/recordist
also providing common audio tech services for video,
film or TV production. I also provide boom operator
services with ample skills in broadcast/ENG/EFP, film
production, and other non broadcast video productions
like corporate video. As a
professional freelance sound man I have production
credits spanning most of the globe as well, including
some for feature films. My name's Nick and I am a multiple
decade veteran of video, broadcast & film production

From the basic lavalier and boom on separate channels
to multiple lavaliers mixed to camera or combinations

audio cables for specific model cameras, outside the
common XLR connector (Arri, RED, etc) and can also slave
a camera or take time code for multiple track mixing
& sound recording as well.

Boom Operator - for video or film crews as
an supporting boom operator. I can also provide production
sound mixing & recoding. I can combine / mix several
audio sources separately from the shotgun microphone.
These roles are almost always supporting camera people
or camera crews or other specific uses for ADR, foley/sound
effects recording. From the roles of either boom operator
or audio tech or 'sound man' for television, video production
or motion picture production - I have shotgun microphones
as well with particular pickup patterns as well for
specific audio needs - interviews, MOS, B roll, feature
productions following actors or for television, large
area micing, among other specific uses paired with lavaliers
or other audio sources.

Audio or Sound Tech for live production trucks
/ live shots / ENG/EFP / SNG Crews, stage uplink, or
live sports or satellite trucks relaying video as well
as audio. I can also provide audio engineering for studios
or production sets. The term audio tech or sound tech
is also used in ENG or EFP type productions less commonly
having the tasks assigned as a sound recordist or mixer.

Motion Picture Location Sound Personnel for
35mm film productions; including sync sound with time
code out / in, or audio technician labor services for
DSLR type field production. I can provide myself as
the single location sound person mixing lavaliers, shotgun
microphones to a digital recording with time code embedded
in audio. I can also provide specific role for film
production sound from the supporting boom operator,
utility sound technician, audio engineering for the
set or post production or as the lead sound engineer
overseeing the other location members on a larger scale
motion picture films.

Location production sound recordist AKA a production
sound mixer for field production camera people
or crews. This is another broad reaching definition
and has multiple tasks for this particular crew member.

Foley recording and sound effects recording
for video/film/features or for sound effects libraries
with various audio sources mixed and recorded to separate
audio tracks, aka digital audio files. The personnel
on foley or editing or sound effects are often termed
sound engineers or audio engineers.

Studio audio technician or person for live
broadcast production, news, sports, or for post production
overseeing uplinks or live broadcasts or edited recordings
for edits.

A1 or A2 audio pending the assignment. Sometimes
the A1 or A2 is referred to a sound or audio engineer
as well for either studio production or for mixing sound
on a production truck. The A1 is the lead production
person or manager whom oversees the A2 or utilities
or technicians.

sound person in industry terminology by camera people
or crews or producers with the specialty of providing
location audio/sound mixing and recording to camera
crews or camera people or broadcasts or for video or
film production. The terms sound recordist or production

My professional experience spans 1991 in Colorado
on productions for ENG, EFP, TV, corporate and film
shoots. My national and global experience started around
